sQuiggle (2021)

The vision for this playful artwork was to express Quentin Kenihan’s passion, determination and heart. The use of “superman” red is dynamic, represents power, his enthusiasm for superheroes and his fondness of Christmas time.

The three-dimensional line weaves around itself, creating engaging intertwining forms. Visually, the form provides subtle gestures to the Knot by Bert Flugelman, oblique upper and lower-case Q’s and crazy straws.

The curved forms have connection to the surrounding play space elements and immediate flora. Set against the colours of the East parklands, the scale and placement provide immediate wayfinding to the entrance with sightlines across the pathways within Murlawirrapurka (Rymill Park).
